Nomination & Voting Guidelines
Learn how you can nominate and vote for your hero.
Small towns are the bedrock of our country, and DISH is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. We’re on a mission to honor local heroes making a difference – and that’s where you come in! Whether you’re a nominator, a nominee, or simply want to help honor our heroes, this page is for you. Learn how our Hometown Heroes sweepstakes works:
Nominations Are Submitted
Nominations will be accepted for each category during the nomination window. Nominators can fill out an online application but must have permission from the nominee in order to participate.
Finalists Are Chosen
Nominators/nominees will be notified if they are being considered as a finalist and may be asked for additional information to confirm eligibility. DISH will select finalists based on adherence to the Sweepstakes Categories, commitment to community service, inspirational power, and overall impact, and other guidelines as stated in the official rules.
Voting Begins
When voting opens, make sure to share the voting page and get everyone you know to vote.
Winners Are Announced
When the voting window closes, we'll tally votes, verify and announce winners. We will contact you by phone and email if you win. You will have 72 hours to respond and accept your prize.
How do I nominate a hero?
Thank you for helping us show our local heroes the appreciation they deserve. Start by signing up for reminders so you can be notified when new nomination windows open. Then, read the rules and get permission before filling out the form. Your nominee will have to approve or decline their nomination once it has been made.
What do I do if I’ve been nominated?
Congratulations! Thank you for being a hero to your community. Look for a confirmation email from support@dishhometownheroes.com (check your spam folder). Then, read the rules and eligibility requirements. Finally, accept or decline your nomination and let us know if any content needs to be corrected. We wish you the best of luck!
If you know that you've been nominated, but never received the confirmation email, send us an email at support@dishhometownheroes.com with your name and your nominator's name, and whether or not you'd like to accept the nomination, and we will make should you are updated in our system.
How do I vote for a hero?
Thanks for being part of our mission to honor local heroes! Start by signing up for email reminders for the categories you are interested in. Then, review the nominees and vote for your favorites. You can vote once per day, so keep coming back to rack up those votes! Don’t forget to share on social media to help spread the word and get others involved.
